General Terms & Conditions of Sale
Article 1: Booking and length of stay
Confirmation of the booking made by the Guest will be provided by means of a confirmation e-mail stating the dates of the stay, the duration, the rate and any optional extras.
The booking is deemed firm and final upon receipt of the 30% deposit.
Under no circumstances may the guest claim any right to remain on the premises beyond the booked stay as agreed by the owners.
Article 2: Payment and modifications
A 30% deposit is required for all bookings. No booking will be considered confirmed without receipt of this deposit. Payment can be made by payment link, bank transfer or credit card.
The balance is due 7 days before arrival. Payment can be made by payment link, bank transfer or credit card.
Special weekends: Certain dates (Christmas, New Year's Eve, bank holiday weekends, 1st May, etc. — non-exhaustive list) are subject to non-cancellable, non-refundable conditions. On certain other dates, cancellation conditions with 30 days' notice apply. These specific conditions will be communicated at the time of booking by telephone or directly through our booking engine.
Any request to modify a booking (dates, room category, etc.) must be notified to the owners in writing. Modifications are subject to availability and to the adjustment of the applicable rates.
Article 3: Cancellation by the guest
Cancellation policy:
More than 8 days before the arrival date: free of charge
Between 7 days and the arrival date: 100% of the total booking amount
Excluding promotions, last-minute offers or any other product marked as non-cancellable, non-refundable.
Article 4: Cancellation by the owners
In the event of cancellation prior to the stay by the owners, the guest will be informed by e-mail. Without prejudice to any claims for damages incurred, the guest will receive a full refund of all sums paid within a maximum of one month.
Article 5: Arrival and departure
Guests must arrive between 5pm and 7pm. In the event of a late or delayed arrival, guests must inform the owners. On the day of departure, guests must vacate the premises by 11am at the latest.
Article 6: Capacity
The number of guests must be specified at the time of booking. If the agreed number is exceeded, the owners reserve the right to refuse additional guests where no other rooms are available. Such refusal shall not be considered a modification or breach of the booking, and no refund shall be granted should guests choose to leave as a result.
All rooms are designed to accommodate a maximum of 2 guests. Extra beds and/or cots cannot be added to the rooms.
Article 7: Use of the premises
Guests are expected to respect the peaceful character of the premises and to use them in accordance with their intended purpose.
Hygge Lodge Annecy is not suitable for children.
Guests undertake to return the rooms in perfect condition and to leave all items present in the room. In the event of damage to indoor or outdoor furniture, or if any item or piece of furniture is missing, the owners reserve the right to charge the guest for the cost of repair or replacement.
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the rooms. Failure to comply will result in an additional charge of €90.
The owners accept no responsibility for lost or stolen items.
Only guests who have made a booking are permitted to enter the premises.
Article 8: Inventory and exceptional cleaning fees
An inventory is carried out upon arrival and departure. Rooms and lodges must be returned in a reasonably clean condition.
In the event of damage, excessive soiling or a condition requiring deep cleaning (stains on bed linen, towels, furniture, lingering odours, etc.), exceptional cleaning fees will be charged to the guest, supported by evidence:
Deep cleaning: from €90
Replacement of damaged linen: at actual cost
These charges will be debited from the payment method provided at the time of booking.
Article 9: Sauna and Nordic bath
Access is permitted between 4pm and 7pm. The sauna and Nordic bath are not self-service; guests must agree a time slot with the owners in advance (heating time required).
A shower is compulsory before use. Sunscreen and sun oils are strictly prohibited.
Access to the Nordic bath and sauna is not permitted for babies or children under 16. Minors aged 16 to 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Access is prohibited for anyone suffering from contagious or skin diseases. Access is strongly discouraged for pregnant women and those with heart conditions.
Article 10: Swimming pool
In accordance with French regulations governing private swimming pools open to guests, and in order to ensure harmonious use, the following pool rules have been established:
The owners remind all guests that the pool is unsupervised.
As the pool is a private family pool, its use is reserved exclusively for members of the owners' family and guests staying at the guest house.
Access to the pool is not permitted for babies or children under 16, even when accompanied. Use of the pool by minors aged 16 to 18 is under the full supervision and responsibility of their parents.
All noisy games and throwing of objects are prohibited in and around the pool. Diving and jumping from the pool edge are prohibited.
Access is prohibited for anyone suffering from contagious or skin diseases.
Pool users must take a shower before swimming and avoid bathing after applying sunscreen or sun oil.
The pool area is open to guests from 10am to 7pm.
All pool users must hold valid personal liability insurance (Responsabilité Civile).
In the event of repeated breaches of any of these rules, the owners may revoke pool access previously granted, without any compensation whatsoever.
Article 11: Pets
Pets are not permitted at Hygge Lodge. With two dogs already on site, we have reached our quota. If you are wary of furry friends, please let us know when booking.
Failure to comply with this clause will result in the animals being refused. Such refusal shall not be considered a modification or breach of the booking, and no refund shall be granted.
Article 12: WiFi access
Guests have free access to the owners' internet connection at no additional cost. The guest acknowledges using the Hygge Lodge Annecy WiFi connection during their stay.
The guest declares on their honour that they will not use the connection for reprehensible, immoral activities or activities that could incur the owners' liability, in particular for sending, receiving or accessing content that is unlawful under French law, especially with regard to intellectual property and cybercrime regulations.
The use of peer-to-peer software is strictly prohibited.
In the event of a dispute or investigation, the owners may transmit personal information to the relevant authorities, which the guest accepts by these terms.
The guest is solely responsible for the use they make of their equipment and its activity on the owners' network, including with regard to other guests. The guest accepts the risks associated with using a WiFi network and internet connection; it is recommended to increase the level of protection of their firewall and antivirus software.
Article 13: Damage and accidents
The owners shall not be held liable in the event of accidents or damage. The personal liability of the guest deemed responsible shall automatically be engaged.

In the event of a dispute, the parties agree that the competent jurisdiction shall be that of the owners' area of residence.
